Our client, an international consumer electronics company, seeks a Quality Engineer to assist on activities pertinent to the approval of products by government agencies to ensure compliance with legal marketing requirements. In addition, ensure initial and ongoing product quality meet quality standards. This is a full time temp-to-hire opportunity.This is a diverse position that will entail product safety engineering and compliance as well as quality and product testing engineering.
Product Safety Engineering
- Reviews new products for compliance with agency requirements and recommends necessary design changes, literature, and label markings prior to agency submittal.
- Assist with agency submittal activities based on factory production and marketing schedules. Tracks status of agency investigations and responds to agency comments, questions or information requests.
- Attends industry meetings and conferences pertaining to product safety, compliance, design specifications, and new technologies.
- Assists in reviews of new/revised agency requirements and the preparation of summary reports for use by product design, engineering, and testing departments.
- Assist in the collection and review of product warranty data to monitor product performance.
- Assist in the preparation of reports on issues such as product performance, parts usage, warranty claims, and other reports as required.
- Assist in product evaluations at each development phase to ensure usability, quality, safety, and serviceability prior to market launch.
- Assist in the review of operation manuals, service manuals, installation manuals, product labels, technical bulletins, etc., to ensure content is accurate.
- Assist in product incoming inspections and reworks as required.
- Assist in maintaining product testing lab in a clean and orderly fashion and maintain an accounting for equipment and product inventory.
- Analyze relative information and data in order to plan activities or make decisions
- Comprehend written communications, instructions, polices, technical materials, etc.
