Our client, a large major manufacturer of products & assemblies for the oil, gas, chemical, semiconductor, and transportation industries seeks a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant who will also perform the role as a Supervisory Accountant. The Senior Accountant will work with the Director of Finance to lead the accounting team, supervise, monitor and evaluate all daily accounting activities. This is an official full time temp-to-hire opportunity.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Managing, supervising, and leading the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions (2-3 direct reports).
- Managing and reconciling financial transactions and accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and budgets to provide management with insights into the company's financial performance.
- Overseeing the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Managing intercompany transactions, including reconciliations.
- Collaborating with internal and external auditors to ensure successful audits.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices within the accounting department.
- Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Monitoring and managing cash flow and working capital.
- Mentoring and developing accounting staff, as well as assisting in their professional growth.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is preferred.
- 5 or more years of experience in accounting and finance, with at least a few years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other similar accounting system.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy and compliance.
