Our client, a very reputable mental health clinic, is looking to hire a full time, long term temporary HR Assistant. This is a remote position but candidates must live within 1 hour of NYC. The HR Assistant will provide essential administrative support to the Human Resources department and leadership team. This role will also function as a hiring manager, helping to oversee recruitment and onboarding processes across various departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor HR and recruiting-related email inboxes 
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Prepare, track, and process HR-related documentation, including: FMLA and other leave paperwork, Offer letters and onboarding materials, Employment verification forms
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling employee information.
  • Review and approve internship hours in collaboration with supervisors and academic partners.
  • Track internship progress and completion.
  • Complete or coordinate intern performance evaluations as needed.
  • Serve as a primary hiring manager for assigned positions, including screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Post job listings on various platforms and track applicants through the hiring pipeline.
  • Collaborate with department leads to understand hiring needs and candidate qualifications.
  • Participate in onboarding and orientation for new hires.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in HR or administrative support (internship experience
  • welcome).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and HR best practices (FMLA, ADA, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems or HRIS preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Full time, M-F, 9-5
Long term temp with no scheduled end date
$23-$27/hour
Remote (Must live within 1 hour of NYC)
