Practice Administrator
- Manage and oversee the business affairs of the practice
- Negotiate and manage equipment leases and service contracts
- Oversee all maintenance aspects of the building
- Research and oversee purchases and installation of new equipment
- Arrange and oversee software updates for medical software
- Obtain malpractice insurance quotes when requested and oversee annual renewals
- Oversee all HR functions
- Supervise and oversee overall staff performance
- Maintain employee files
- Process bi-weekly payroll
- Responsible for screening and interviewing new hires of clinical and administrative staff
- Perform staff reviews annually and disciplinary measures when needed including terminations
- Obtain quotes for, and oversee annual medical insurance policies as well as other insurance offered to staff
- Provide training and educational material for staff
- Ensure annual HIPAA/OSHA/Corporate Compliance training is completed by all staff and physicians
- Perform administrative and accounting tasks
- Process and deposits daily cash and checks
- Input revenue figures into accounting software
- Perform month and year end tasks for CPA
- Process bi-monthly accounts payable
- Submit annual MIPS/MACRA information to CMS
- Oversee billing staff
- Handle patient complaints and concerns
Qualifications for Practice Administrator
- Proven experience working in a managerial position in a clinical or medical setting
- Strong understanding of healthcare administration and management
- Familiar with administrative software for healthcare systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent customer service with a client focus
- Flexible to work weekends and overtime where required
- Able to travel to meetings and to attend conferences as necessary
- Able to sit, stand and move around for long hours at a time
