Our client, a major international equipment manufacturing company, seeks a Technical Support IT Specialist to support daily operations and IT-related projects. Come join a stable organization that values its employees and work / life balance.

Candidates will have experience supporting PC/Laptop hardware, Microsoft Windows, and MS Office. This is a full time indefinite temporary/contract position with a long term potential temp-to-hire.

Technical Support Responsibilities:

* Troubleshoot a wide range of network and hardware issues, providing timely and efficient resolutions.

* Support PC and laptops with hardware, software, and MS Office 365 installation and support.

* Support network printers, copiers, industrial label printers, and wireless barcode scanners.

* Support and troubleshoot routers and switches mount on the rack (mainly helping with the physical installation/removal of devices from the rack. Verify cabling and status lights on devices.)

* Implement enterprise wide projects from corporate IT (e.g. upgrades, patches, new hardware installation)

* Document all IT notes and incidents in ServiceNow ticketing system

Technical Support Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Able to discuss IT with non-technical people
  • Experience supporting PC and Laptop hardware.
  • Experience with Windows OS support and configuration
  • Experience working in an Enterprise structured IT environment.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of Networks, including DNS, DHCP, and Subnets.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of Routers, Switches, and Wireless Access Points.
  • Capable of troubleshooting network issues using command line utilities such as ping, nslookup, arp, etc.

Technical Support Certification:

  • Prefer CompTIA A+ certification
  • Optional: CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA, expertise in networking.
  • Alternatively, possesses equivalent education, such as a degree in Computer Science.

Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills are essential for success in this role. Professional, organized, structured, with the self-discipline to complete the required documentation of activities.
